Russell explains: "It was my response to Voyage of the Damned. The way people turn on each other. It's very rare to see the Doctor out of control, but he cannot control people.
It was set on the Crusdar 50 shuttle bus - so named because episode 8 was due to be the 50th broadcast episode of Doctor Who since its 2005 revival. I didn't realize that this was our 50th until DWM pointed it out to me! Everyone on the production team was gobsmacked. None of us had been keeping count.
The Doctor's own character creates tension and peril. His own arrogance starts to bring him down. Everything that's strong abouut the Doctor is pulled away bit by bit, until he's the one the passangers want to kill."
