“With this episode I began to see what we could achieve with CGI, and how much the show needed to live up to that block-bustery, event-led, headline grabbing theory of mine.So I sent a Slitheen shuttle ploughing into Big Ben. Much more fun and a good indication of how big we can make stories sometimes.”
Doctor Who: World War 3
Using his UNIT expertese, the Doctor sees through the Slitheen fascade, but becomes trapped in Number 10 Downing Street. With the help of Harriet Jones, MP for Flydale North, the Doctor and Rose make contact with Jackie, Rose’s mum and Mickey, Rose’s boyfriend. Together they hack into UNIT’s computer system and hijack an air-borne missile and guide it to fall on Number 10. Luckily, the Doctor, Rose and Harriet are saved by the armour-plated “capsule” that made up the cabinet room, placed there in the case of nuclear war.
